this borderless era, communication is at our fingertips no matter where we are.
Those were the days snail mail and telephones played an important role in
keeping verbal communication alive between parties regardless the distance and
where possibilities are available, meeting up in person further kept a
relationship steady. However, all those
were in the past. Currently, face to face and verbal communication has now
turned into Facebook communication! Is social media like Facebook
a good communication tool? I agree that social media like Facebook

advantages especially in helping people gear towards an extremely busy
lifestyle! Do we have the time to meet up with old buddies to have casual talk?

remarkable achievement for an 8-year-old social network and a heightened
challenge to its quest for sustained growth”. This proves that Facebook has
enabled society to update their social lives amidst the busy lifestyle.

definitely a tool towards a lasting friendship and strengthening of the family
bond. Those days, during the stages of growing up, we meet people who become
close friends, however as destiny takes over, those friendships end. All those
friendships remain as sweet memories of the past. However, with the existence
of Facebook, those who have lost touch for ages are reconnected again. Children
nowadays are fortunate that they will never lose contact with their friends or
relatives as Facebook connects them to any corner of the world. Facebook, with
one billion active users, the social networking giant has become an important
part of the way its users stay connected; whether it’s finding lost friends,
keeping in touch with school buddies, or helping families stay connected
(Kenneth Rosen, 2012).
In the contrary, reports have stated
that Facebook has caused many negative effects to the society especially
teenagers. Many have fallen prey to cyber crimes, cyber sex and so on. This is
due to lack of knowledge, parental guide, ignorance and blindly trusting
someone. Therefore, society needs the necessary awareness of these setbacks as social
networking is here to stay. It has left a huge impact in almost every field other
than communication. The social media in general has revolutionized the world,
bringing us closer than ever before, making life easier than it ever was. We should
exploit this and use it for a better life and a better tomorrow. Social media
like Facebook is definitely a good communication tool.
